From flat catalogues to interactive experiences.

A swatch tells a buyer what a design looks like. A room shows them what it will become. Grainline Studio places each decor onto real furniture, in rooms lit like a finished interior.

Immersive 3D rooms

Kitchens, wardrobes, media walls, offices, vanities and dining units, lit with baked global illumination so materials read the way they do in a finished space. Buyers orbit, zoom and frame each room themselves.

An interactive catalogue

Every design in one searchable, filterable catalogue. Find a decor by its code, open the original design image, and send it straight onto the furniture.

03

Real-time material preview

Click any surface in the room and choose a design. The print is mapped at true sheet scale, so grain direction and pattern size look right on a door, a panel or a worktop.

Surface and finish exploration

Switch between matte, satin and gloss simulations and watch reflections of the room respond on the surface. Each room has three independent surfaces, so combinations are explored together.

Solutions

Built for the businesses that sell surfaces.

How it works

From catalogue to showroom in four stages.

  1. 01

    Prepare the material catalogue

Design images, codes, categories and sizes are collected and processed into web textures at true sheet scale. Where the source provides it, original images are kept for reference.

  2. 02

    Configure visualization scenes

Rooms are modelled to real dimensions, with each laminate surface defined as an application area. Lighting is rendered in Blender Cycles and baked so it loads fast in the browser.

  3. 03

    Enable interactive exploration

The catalogue and rooms are combined into the 3D showroom: surface selection, finish simulation, comparison, shortlist and shareable links.

  4. 04

    Share the showroom experience

The showroom runs on a URL: on your website, on a sales tablet, or as a link sent to a client. Deep links open a specific room and decor set.

Illustrative workflow: this is how the current showroom scenes were produced. Timelines and the exact set-up for your catalogue are agreed per project.

Before / after

One room. Two decisions.

Drag the divider. The same media wall, the same camera, two decor schemes: exactly how the showroom’s compare tool helps buyers decide.

Why it matters

A better way to sell what surfaces can become.

Visualize with confidence
Buyers see a decor on the furniture it is meant for, in a lit room, before they ask for a sample.
A catalogue people explore
An interactive showroom invites browsing in a way a PDF or swatch grid does not.
Sales demonstrations that land
Change a kitchen’s fronts in seconds during a conversation instead of describing it.
Better design exploration
Three independent surfaces per room let combinations be tried together, not in isolation.
Many materials, no room sets
Present a whole collection without building or photographing a physical display for each design.
Richer product conversations
A shared link records the exact scheme, so follow-ups start from what the client actually chose.

FAQ

Questions, answered plainly.

What is Grainline Studio?

A browser-based 3D showroom for decorative surfaces. Buyers apply real laminate designs to furniture in realistic rooms, switch between finish simulations, compare choices and save a shortlist. It runs on a web link, with nothing to install.

Who is it designed for?

Laminate and decorative-surface manufacturers, furniture brands, kitchen and wardrobe businesses, interior designers, architects, and the distributors and dealers who sell their materials.

Can manufacturers showcase their own materials?

Yes. Each showroom is built around a specific catalogue: your design images, codes and categories are prepared as web textures at true sheet scale. Today this is a set-up service, not self-serve upload.

How does the 3D visualization work?

Rooms are modelled to real dimensions and their lighting is rendered in Blender Cycles and baked into the scene, so the browser shows realistic light at interactive speed. Your decor is applied to the furniture surfaces in real time. The finish options are visual simulations.

Can it be used on mobile?

Yes. The showroom has a dedicated mobile layout with touch orbit and zoom, and falls back to a rendered image where WebGL is unavailable.

Is it a replacement for physical samples?

No. It helps buyers narrow down designs and combinations with confidence, but colour and texture on screen depend on the display and the source images. Physical samples remain the reference for final approval.

Can the experience be customized?

Rooms, application surfaces, catalogue content and branding are configured per project. Tell us which applications matter to your customers and we will propose a scene set.

How can I request a demonstration?

Use Book a Demo and tell us about your catalogue and audience. You can also explore the live showroom at any time.

Your materials deserve more than a catalogue.
